Amazing Travel Memories to Remember

It’s hard for me to pick just one thing about travel that I’m thankful for because I’m grateful for the chance to travel in general. However, this is a multifaceted topic that lends itself to analysis from many angles.

With so many things for which to be thankful, the resulting list might have easily filled a book.

There are many aspects of my travel life for which I am eternally grateful, but here are just a few.

Solo traveling

I’ve always wanted to travel, but I never believed I would actually get around to doing it.

It could have been that I never succeeded in making vacation plans with friends, or that there just weren’t many people like me who were pursuing this road, so it seemed impossible.

But it was a yearning that wouldn’t be quenched, and after a chain of events—what I see now as the last pieces fitting into place—I made the courageous decision to strike out on my own.

How incredibly appreciative I am that I didn’t give up on travel when things didn’t look promising.

But it turned out to be a part of a greater design that taught me to stop relying on other people and start making my own decisions.

Accidents  Unfortunately, I have had my fair share of poor luck and unfortunate circumstances during my travels, so this is something with which I am well familiar.

Though they seemed like insurmountable problems at the time, I am now truly appreciative that I was able to face and overcome them.

My failures taught me important lessons and helped me develop into a more resilient person ready to take on any challenge.

To the limit

For me, travel is all about trying new things, and while I thought for sure I would back out of certain scary things, I am proud of everything I have tried.

Since I didn’t have a particularly adventurous upbringing, extreme outdoor sports never really appealed to me. But I was determined to explore new things, and I figured that my travels would be a great opportunity to do so.

I am really happy that I tried so many new things, from scuba diving and snowboarding to surfing, paragliding, and skydiving, some of which I never would have believed I would enjoy.

Perspective on Life

Getting a glimpse of the world’s myriad cultures is one of the greatest benefits of exploring the globe.

That there are people who actually believe there is a good and wrong way to live in this vast globe baffles me.

The more of the world you see, the more you realize that there is no one right way to live; instead, we each have the freedom to shape our own lives according to our own values and priorities, regardless of what others expect of us.

Freedom to move

I am well aware that not everyone in the world is in a position to be able to travel and experience new locations as easily as I am.

I don’t ever want to forget how fortunate I am to have this chance.

Being able to travel and experience the world in the way that I have is a blessing that I will never take for granted since I know that not everyone has the same opportunities that I have.

One of the most beneficial states of mind to cultivate is gratitude, because when we are in a grateful frame of mind, we are better able to see and appreciate the many blessings already in our lives.

As I wrote, I was reminded of more and more reasons to be thankful for my life and the experiences I’ve had thus far.

That’s the beauty of gratitude: it makes us aware of even more reasons to be appreciative, and consequently, we radiate positivity.
